Traffic Alerts Ahead: 2/2 – 2/9

These dates are based on local agency timelines and subject to change.

The community has experienced significant growth in the past few years, and in the process of maintaining the infrastructure that can support a growing commuter population, we understand that these projects are also interrupting your communities and daily commutes. In an effort to keep the community informed of projects underway by local public agencies, we are bringing you a travel alert for upcoming events and roadway construction to help you better plan your travel.

Below is a listing of upcoming significant roadway and infrastructure projects that may impact your commutes.

Drivers are encouraged to plan their commutes by checking ahead of time for traffic conditions as well as leaving earlier for their destinations.

NDOT I-15/Tropicana project impacts include:

  • 1/18 to 9/15 – all day – I-15 southbound off ramp to Tropicana westbound, CLOSED through September 2023
  • 1/18 to 6/2024 – I-15 southbound flyover off-ramp to Tropicana eastbound, CLOSED to June 2024
  • 1/22 to 9/15 – all day – Tropicana on ramp to I-15 northbound CLOSED through September 2023
  • 1/28 to 6/2024 –all day – I-15 northbound hook ramp to Frank Sinatra, CLOSED to June 2024
  • Through February – 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Dean Martin Drive northbound and southbound, various lane restrictions between Tropicana Avenue to Hotel Rio Sunday night thru Thursday night.
  • Through February – all day – I-15 Aux lane, Flamingo to Tropicana CLOSED

NDOT I-515 Charleston project impacts include:

  • Through April – all day – Charleston Boulevard eastbound and westbound between Sandhill/ Honolulu and Sacramento, two lanes open.

NDOT I-15 North Widening project impacts include:

  • Through late February – 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – I-15 northbound and southbound between Speedway Boulevard and the Garnet Interchange (U.S. 93) reduced to one lane overnight hours, Sunday through Thursday.
  • Through February – all day – Speedway under I-15 CLOSED or reduced lanes, intermittently
  • Through February – 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Las Vegas Blvd under I-15, CLOSED or reduced lanes, intermittently

City of Las Vegas Charleston/Maryland Storm Drain project:

  • Ongoing – Charleston Boulevard between 15th Street and Fremont Street, reduced to one lane both eastbound and westbound.

Clark County Resort Corridor project impacts:

  • 2/2 and 2/5 to 2/9 – 11 p.m. to 9 a.m. – Las Vegas Boulevard northbound and southbound between Harmon and Bellagio, 2 lanes open.
  • 2/2 and 2/5 to 2/9 – 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Las Vegas Boulevard northbound, Sunset Road to Dewey Drive reduced to one lane.

Clark County Frank Sinatra project impacts include:

  • 2/2 and 2/5 to 2/9 – 11 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. ­– Frank Sinatra at T-Mobile arena, no lane restrictions

Clark County Dean Martin project impacts include:

  • Paving work on hold for low temperatures

Hotel Rio Drive project impacts include: 

  • 2/5 at 9 p.m. through 2/10 at 6 a.m.– Hotel Rio, CLOSED Flamingo to Dean Martin

Clark County Sammy Davis Jr project impacts include:

  • 2/2 – 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Sammy Davis northbound, Circus Circus to North Bridge, one lane open
  • 2/2 – 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Sammy Davis southbound. North Bridge to Circus Circus, two lanes open
  • 2/5 to 2/9 – 9 p.m. – 6 a.m. – Sammy Davis northbound and southbound at Mel Torme, one lane open

NDOT Centennial Bowl project impacts include:

  • Ongoing – US-95 southbound exit 91, Centennial, Ann, Rancho Drive off-ramp CLOSED
  • Through Feb. 7 – Long-term closure on Oso Blanca Road from the 215 Beltway to Deer Springs Way.
  • Ongoing – Northbound US-95 at the 215 Beltway will be reduced to two lanes.
  • Ongoing – US-95 southbound at the 215 Beltway to be reduced to three lanes.

University Center project impacts include:

  • Through March 15 – all day – University Center northbound and southbound, north of Harmon to Flamingo, 1 lane open

Commuters should also be advised that several large events may impact traffic and cause delays.

201 – Tropicana

  • (EB) – Starting at midnight on Sunday, January 22, continuous until 05:00 a.m. on Monday, January 30 (24-hour detour): From EB Tropicana at Valley View, turn right on Valley View (service temp stop on SB Valley View after trop, stop #6861), turn left on Hacienda, turn left on Las Vegas Blvd., turn right on Tropicana, back on regular routing.
  • (WB) – Starting at midnight on Sunday, January 22, continuous until  05:00 a.m. on Monday, January 30 (24-hour detour): From WB Tropicana at Las Vegas Blvd., turn left on Las Vegas Blvd. (service temp stop on SB LVB at Excalibur, stop #1351), turn right on Mandalay Bay Rd (Mandalay Bay Rd turns into Hacienda after the I-15 overpass), turn right on Valley View, turn left on Tropicana, back on regular routing.

CX – Centennial Express

  • (NB) – Starting at 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, continuous until January 29: From WB Tropicana after Wilbur, turn right on Koval (service temp stop on NB Koval after Tropicana), turn left on Flamingo (service temp stop on WB Flamingo after LVB), turn right on the I-15 (NB), back on regular routing.
  • (SB) – Starting at 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, continuous until January 29: From I-15 (SB), exit Flamingo EB (service temp stop on EB Flamingo after Las Vegas Blvd.), turn right on Koval (service temp stop on SB Koval after Flamingo), turn left on Tropicana, back on regular routing.

113 – Las Vegas Blvd North

  • (NB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From northbound Las Vegas Blvd, turn left onto Nellis, turn right onto Craig Rd, turn right onto Las Vegas Blvd and continue to the layover location.

206 – Charleston 

  • (EB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From northbound Shadow Lane, turn right onto Wellness, turn left onto Martin Luther King, turn right onto Bonneville, back on regular routing.
  • (WB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From westbound Bonneville, turn left onto Martin Luther King, right turn onto Wellness, turn left onto Shadow Ln., back on regular routing.
  • (WB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From westbound Charleston after 28th Street, turn right onto Fremont, turn left onto Bruce, turn right onto Charleston, back on regular routing.

217 – Warm Springs/Lake Mead Parkway

  • (WB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From southbound Dean Martin, turn right onto Blue Diamond, turn left onto Valley View, turn left onto the Chevron gas station roadway (rear of Chevron turns into Shelbourne), turn left onto Dean Martin, back on regular routing.

220 – Ann/Tropical

  • (EB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From southbound Lamb, continue across Nexus, turn left onto I-15, exit Tropical, turn right onto Tropical, turn right onto Nicco Way, turn left onto El Campo Grande, back on regular routing.
  • (WB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From westbound El Campo Grande, turn right onto Nicco, turn left onto Tropical, turn left onto I-15 and exit Lamb, turn right onto Lamb continuing across Nexus, back on regular routing.

SX – Sahara Express

    • (EB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From eastbound Sahara, turn right onto Hollywood, turn right onto Vegas Valley, proceed to the new layover location on WB Vegas Valley after Hollywood.
    • (WB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From the new layover location on WB Vegas Valley after Hollywood, continue west on Vegas Valley, turn right onto Tree Line, turn left onto Sahara, back on regular routing.
