These dates are based on local agency timelines and subject to change.

The community has experienced significant growth in the past few years, and in the process of maintaining the infrastructure that can support a growing commuter population, we understand that these projects are also interrupting your communities and daily commutes. In an effort to keep the community informed of projects underway by local public agencies, we are bringing you a travel alert for upcoming events and roadway construction to help you better plan your travel.

Traffic Alerts Ahead: 11/24 to 12/1

Below is a listing of upcoming significant roadway and infrastructure projects that may impact your commutes. 

Drivers are encouraged to plan their commutes by checking ahead of time for traffic conditions as well as leaving earlier for their destinations.

Overnight Closures of Southbound I-15 at CC-215

  • 11/28 to 12/1 – 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Southbound I-15 closed.  Traffic will be detoured to the I-15 southbound off- and onramps.
  • 11/28 to 12/1 – 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. -Tropical Pkwy will be closed over I-15 between the southbound and northbound ramps to accommodate the detour.

City of Las Vegas Charleston/Maryland Storm Drain Project:

  • Ongoing – Charleston Boulevard between Bruce Street and Fremont Street, reduced to one lane both eastbound and westbound.
  • Through 12/31 – Eastern Avenue southbound CLOSED at Charleston Boulevard. 

Clark County Resort Corridor project impacts:

  • Through mid-December – all day – Russell Road between Frank Sinatra Drive and Las Vegas Boulevard, intermittent lane closures.
  • Through January– all day – Las Vegas Boulevard northbound between Sunset Road and Russell Road, reduced to one lane Monday through Friday.

Clark County Frank Sinatra project impacts include:

  • 11/27 to 12/1 – 11 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. – Frank Sinatra northbound and southbound between Bellagio and Flamingo, reduced to one lane.
  • 11/27 to 12/1 – 11 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. – I-15 northbound off-ramp to Russell, closed intermittently.
  • 11/27 to 12/1 – 11 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. – Frank Sinatra northbound and southbound between Russell to Mandalay Bay, reduced to one lane.
  • 11/27 to 12/1 – 11 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. – Frank Sinatra/Russell Road loop reduced to one lane both travel directions.

Clark County Dean Martin project impacts include:

  • 11/27 to 12/1 – 11 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. – Dean Martin near Frank Sinatra northbound reduced to one lane.

Clark County Sammy Davis Jr project impacts include:

  • 11/27 to 12/1 – 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Sammy Davis Jr Drive northbound between the Mirage to the Fashion Show, reduced to one lane.

NDOT I-515 Charleston project impacts include:

  • Ongoing – all day – Charleston Boulevard eastbound and westbound between Sandhill/ Honolulu and Sacramento, two lanes open.
  • Ongoing – Stewart Avenue will have lane restrictions eastbound and westbound between Pecos and Sandhill.
  • Through January – Pecos Road and Mojave Road will have intermittent lane restrictions.

NDOT I-15 North Widening project impacts include:

  • Through December – 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – I-15 northbound and southbound between Speedway Boulevard and Las Vegas Boulevard reduced to one lane overnight hours, Sunday night thru Thursday night.

NDOT I-15/Tropicana project impacts include:

  • 11/27 to 12/1 – 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Tropicana Avenue westbound between Polaris Avenue to Dean Martin Drive, one lanes closed.
  • 11/28 – 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. – I-15 southbound between Flamingo and Tropicana, lane closures.
  • 12/1 – 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. – I-15 northbound between Tropicana and Flamingo, lane closures.
  • Through 2/2023 – all day – I-15 southbound auxiliary lane between Flamingo and Tropicana will be closed.
  • Through February – 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Dean Martin Drive northbound and southbound, various lane restrictions between Tropicana Avenue to Hotel Rio Sunday night thru Thursday night.

NDOT Centennial Bowl project impacts include:

  • Ongoing – US-95 southbound exit 91 off ramp closed.
  • Ongoing – Long-term closure on Oso Blanca Road from the 215 Beltway to Deer Springs Way.
  • Ongoing – Northbound US-95 at the 215 Beltway will be reduced to two lanes.
  • Ongoing – US-95 southbound at the 215 Beltway to be reduced to three lanes.

Commuters should also be advised that several large events may impact traffic and cause delays.

Current transit detours:

113 – Las Vegas Blvd North

  • (NB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From northbound Las Vegas Blvd, turn left onto Nellis, turn right onto Craig Rd, turn right onto Las Vegas Blvd and continue to the layover location.

206 – Charleston 

  • (EB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From northbound Shadow Lane, turn right onto Wellness, turn left onto Martin Luther King, turn right onto Bonneville, back on regular routing.
  • (WB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From westbound Bonneville, turn left onto Martin Luther King, right turn onto Wellness, turn left onto Shadow Ln., back on regular routing.
  • (WB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From westbound Charleston after 28th Street, turn right onto Fremont, turn left onto Bruce, turn right onto Charleston, back on regular routing.

217 – Warm Springs/Lake Mead Parkway

  • (WB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From southbound Dean Martin, turn right onto Blue Diamond, turn left onto Valley View, turn left onto the Chevron gas station roadway (rear of Chevron turns into Shelbourne), turn left onto Dean Martin, back on regular routing.

220 – Ann/Tropical

  • (EB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From southbound Lamb, continue across Nexus, turn left onto I-15, exit Tropical, turn right onto Tropical, turn right onto Nicco Way, turn left onto El Campo Grande, back on regular routing.
  • (WB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From westbound El Campo Grande, turn right onto Nicco, turn left onto Tropical, turn left onto I-15 and exit Lamb, turn right onto Lamb continuing across Nexus, back on regular routing.

SX – Sahara Express

    • (EB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From eastbound Sahara, turn right onto Hollywood, turn right onto Vegas Valley, proceed to the new layover location on WB Vegas Valley after Hollywood.
    • (WB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From the new layover location on WB Vegas Valley after Hollywood, continue west on Vegas Valley, turn right onto Tree Line, turn left onto Sahara, back on regular routing.
