Drivers are encouraged to plan their commutes by checking ahead of time for traffic conditions as well as leaving earlier for their destinations.

The RTC gathers information weekly and publishes updates on projects that may impact your travel each Thursday.

  • NDOT Sunset Rd Paving Project

    • Nightly (11 p.m. to 5 a.m.) Sunday night through Friday morning, through Thursday, July 9:
      • Lane reductions on Sunset Road from South Las Vegas Boulevard to Annie Oakley Drive
      • Left and right turn lanes/pockets as well as some right turn lanes will be closed periodically
      • Speed limit reduced to 35 mph throughout the work zone
    • Nightly (11 p.m. to 5 a.m.) Sunday night through Friday morning, through Monday, July 13:
      • Sunset Rd/Grier Drive to Airport Connector ramp closed
      • Intermittent closures from Airport Connector to westbound I-215
      • Intermittent closures from Airport Connector to Hidden Well Rd
      • Intermittent closures from Airport Connector to Warm Springs Rd
      • Reduced lanes from southbound Airport Connector from Grier Dr overpass to I-215

  • NDOT U.S. 95 Near Boulder City Pavement Preservation Project

  • NDOT, Flamingo Rd Safety Improvement Project

    Nightly (8 p.m. to 5 a.m.) Monday, June 1 through Friday, June 19:

    • Intermittent lane reductions on East Flamingo Road between Paradise Road and Pecos Road
    • Traffic may be reduced to a single lane for short durations
    • Speed limit reduced to 35 mph throughout the work zone

  • NDOT, RTC Launching I-11 SafeTech Corridor Project in Central Las Vegas Valley

    • 24/7 through September:
    • High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes closed in both directions of I-11/U.S. 95 between Rancho Drive and Rainbow Boulevard

  • NDOT, U.S. 95 Pavement Preservation Project

    No Updates: 6/4

    24/7, Monday, May 11 through Monday, June 22:

    • Northbound and southbound U.S. 95 reduced to one lane between MP 50 and MP 55, south of I-11/US-95 junction.
    • Lane closures will shift between the left and right sides of the roadway as work progresses.

  • (NB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From northbound 4th St. after Lewis Ave., turn right onto Bridger Ave., turn left onto Las Vegas Blvd., cross over Carson Ave., and back on regular routing.

119 – Simmons/Koval

  • (NB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From westbound Sahara Ave. after I-15, continue west across Rancho Dr., turn right onto Valley View Blvd., turn right onto Charleston Blvd., turn left onto Rancho Dr., back on regular routing.
  • (SB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From southbound Rancho Dr. after Mason Ave., turn left onto Oakey Blvd., turn right onto Industrial Rd./Sammy Davis Jr. Blvd., continue across South Bridge, back on regular routing.

206 – Charleston 

  • (EB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From Bonneville Transit Center after departing Bay 12, turn left onto Garces Ave., turn left onto 4th St., turn right onto Bonneville Ave., turn right onto Maryland Pkwy., turn left onto Charleston Blvd., back on regular routing.
  • (WB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From westbound Charleston Blvd. after 13th St., turn right onto Maryland Pkwy., turn left onto Clark Ave., turn left onto Casino Center Blvd., turn right onto Garces Ave., turn right into Bonneville Transit Center, back on regular routing.

214 – H Street/D Street

  • (West) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From northbound D St. after Frederick Ave., turn left onto Alexander Ave., turn right onto H St., H St. become Revere St. after crossing Lake Mead Blvd., turn right onto Gilday Ave., turn left onto Englestad St., back on regular routing.

217 – Warm Springs/Lake Mead Pkwy

  • (EB) – 24-hour detour until Wednesday, May 6, at 3:00 p.m.: From northbound Dean Martin Dr. after Moberly Ave., turn left onto Robindale Rd., turn right onto Valley View Blvd., turn right onto Warm Springs Rd., continue across Dean Martin Dr., back on regular routing.

BHX – Boulder Hwy Express

  • (NB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From southbound Maryland Pkwy. after Fremont St., continue south across Carson Ave., turn right onto Bridger Ave., turn left onto Las Vegas Blvd., turn right onto Clark Ave., cross over Casino Center Blvd., back on regular routing.
  • (SB) – 24-hour detour until further notice: From eastbound Bonneville Ave. after exiting Bonneville Transit Center, continue across Casino Center Blvd., turn left onto Las Vegas Blvd., turn right onto Bridger Ave., turn left onto 13th St., turn right onto Fremont St., and continue back on regular routing.

CX – Centennial Express

  • (NB) – 24-hour detour until Thursday, April 30, at 2:59 a.m.: From northbound Maryland Pkwy after Tropicana Ave., continue north across University Rd., UNLV Transit Center will not be serviced, back on regular routing.
  • (NB) – 24-hour detour, starting Thursday, April 30, at 3:00 a.m. until further notice: From northbound Paradise Rd. after servicing Terminal 1, continue north across Rusell Rd., continue north on University Center Dr., turn left onto Flamingo Rd., back on regular routing.
  • (SB) –24-hour detour until Thursday, April 30, at 2:59 a.m.: From southbound Maryland Pkwy after Harmon Ave., continue south across University Rd., UNLV Transit Center will not be serviced, back on regular routing.
  • (SB) – 24-hour detour, starting Thursday, April 30, at 3:00 a.m. until further notice: From eastbound Flamingo Rd. after Koval Ln., turn right onto Paradise Rd., continue south on Paradise Rd., continue across Tropicana Ave., and follow the airport signs to Terminal 1 (Zero Level), back on regular routing.

Route 119 – Simmons / Koval

  • (NB) – From northbound Koval Ln. after Rochelle Ave., turn right onto Flamingo Rd., turn left onto Paradise Rd., turn left onto Sands/Twain Ave., cross over Koval Ln., and continue back on regular routing.
  • (SB) – From eastbound Sands Ave. after Las Vegas Blvd., cross over Koval Ln., turn right onto Paradise Rd., turn right onto Flamingo Rd., turn left onto Koval Ln., and continue back on regular routing.

Sick New World Music Festival Set Up, April 16-29, 2026

Due to the load in/load out schedule for the Sick New World Music Festival, route 119 will be on detour in the area of Sahara/Industrial/South Bridge beginning at 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 16th continuous until 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29th.

Route 119 – Simmons/Koval

  • (NB) – No detour necessary
  • (SB) – From southbound Rancho Dr. after Mason Ave., turn left onto Oakey Blvd., service the temporary bus stop located on the first light pole on EB Oakey Blvd. before Bryn Mawr Blvd., continue eastbound on Oakey Blvd., turn right onto Industrial Rd., back on regular routing.

Boulder City Spring Jamboree Festival

Detour in effect beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30th and will end at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 4th.

Route 221 – Cactus/Horizon Ridge/Boulder City

  • (WB) – From northbound Utah St. after Avenue K, turn left onto Wyoming St., turn left onto Nevada Way, back on regular routing.

First Friday in the Arts District

Detours in effect on Friday, May 1st, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.

Route 108 – Paradise

  • (NB) – From northbound Main Street, turn right onto Charleston Ave., service the temporary bus stop located on the 1st light pole on EB Charleston after Main St., turn left onto 4th St., turn left on Gass Ave., turn right on Main St., back on regular routing.

 

Route 206 – Charleston

  • (WB) – From westbound Charleston after Las Vegas Blvd., turn right onto 4th St., turn left onto Gass Ave., turn right onto Main St., back on regular routing.

First Friday at Fremont Street Experience

Detours in effect on Friday, May 1st 8:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.

Route CX – Centennial Hills Express

  • (SB) – From southbound Casino Center after I-11 freeway, turn right onto Stewart Ave., turn left onto Main St., turn left onto Bridger Ave., turn right onto Casino Center Blvd., back on regular routing.

 

Route 401 – N. Outlets/Symphony Park Loop

  • (SB) – From eastbound Ogden after City Pkwy., turn right onto Main St., turn left onto Bridger Ave., turn right onto Casino Center Blvd., back on regular routing.
